Historical context

Hyêni/Hêni corresponds to Hani/Khini in outside sources, and Nyêrib/Nerib corresponds to Kuyular/Nerib in nineteenth-century place-name material for Hani. The army gathering in front of Temir Beg's house is important: this is most likely Timur/Temir Bey, documented as a Hani notable in 1819, as Hani emin in 1835, and exiled after defeat that same year. This points to a likely event window of 1819-1835.

Research note

The Nyêrib/Kuyular and Hyêni/Hani identifications are externally supported. Little Nyêrib probably refers to a smaller settlement in the Nêrib village cluster around Hani; Dûzê Hemyê appears to be a plain or locality in the same area. The German reader has been realigned with the Zazaki units. Xalef's separate reply about the battle date is explicit in Russian but merged into Daqma's message in the German print. The reader follows Zazaki Hyeni-ra ('from Hyeni') and metırisi ('do not be afraid') where the old prose differs. Remaining uncertainties include the mobilization address, meadows/streets, 'give soldiers' versus 'defeat without an army', the evening/morning wording, tabure besta (rendered 'cartridges' in German/Russian), and bringing/burying the dead. These unsettled readings are not secure lexical evidence.
